"A Cozy Cabin with a Curved Ship's Hull Ceiling, Inspired by the Kitamaebune"

The Kitamaebune merchant ships once made stops in Sado, bringing not only goods but also cultural influences. The famous folk song Sado Okesa is said to have arrived on these ships via the western maritime route, later spreading among the miners of the Sado Gold Mine and evolving into the melancholic Senkōjō-bushi melody. This small hideaway evokes the atmosphere of a resting place for Kitamaebune merchants. The distinctive low, curved ceiling mimics the ship’s hull, while the warm wooden interiors recreate the ambiance of an old maritime voyage. Enjoy a tranquil and reflective stay in this serene space steeped in history.

"A Unique Ambiance with a Ship's Hull Ceiling and Illuminated Earthen Walls"

The room’s original structural layout has been preserved, creating semi-private sleeping spaces divided by its foundational walls. Above the headboards, you'll find authentic earthen walls, retaining the rustic charm of the old house. Soft lighting enhances the warm, distinctive atmosphere. Facing the courtyard, the room features two windows, allowing natural light to brighten the space during the day.

The bathroom is well-equipped with an overhead shower for added comfort. The spacious bathtub, lined with hinoki (Japanese cypress) walls, fills the room with a soothing fragrance. Additionally, a window in the bathroom lets in natural sunlight, creating a refreshing and relaxing bathing experience—perfect for unwinding after your travels.

Start Your Morning with a Complimentary Breakfast

A complimentary breakfast is included in your stay. It is provided by a local delicatessen in the Tasha district of Sado. The meal consists of rice balls, side dishes, and miso soup—simple yet reminiscent of everyday life on Sado. The rice used is locally grown Koshihikari, and other ingredients are sourced from Sado or made in-house.

Guests can choose to have breakfast in their room or at "Kyomachi Chaya," our dedicated breakfast venue. While a short walk from the rooms, the breathtaking view from the venue is well worth the trip.
