A 90year-old warehouse called Kura where you stay overnight

Very few people travel to Shimane prefecture when travelling to Japan from abroad.

We are located in Okuizumo-town where the original Japanese landscape remains and where there are many places related to Izumo mythology.

Highly recommended for those who look for quiet and has not been turned into a tourist spot, and who wants to enjoy hidden rural Japan.

You can see fire flies from middle of June to end of June. I will take you where they are.

The Okuizumo region prospered thanks to the ancient Japanese iron-making technique known as Tatara iron-making. It is said that these beautiful rice terraces were created when the mountains were cut down to extract iron. Rather than leaving the cut mountains abandoned, the locals raised cattle, grew buckwheat and rice, and engaged in recycling-based agriculture.

Recommended points for a two-night stay

One of the great pleasures of traveling is food.

It depends on the season and weather,

but on the second night, we will serve different meals

in a different location than on the first night.

Access to Okuizumo-town is not the easy, but that is exactly why it is worth coming, and I am sure you will enjoy staying here.

You need to drive 1hour from Izumo airport or Izumo city.

It's difficult to reach here by train or bus.
