Hostel perch on Sado Island is a guest house that has been renovated from an old ryokan built about 70 years ago, where you can enjoy an authentic Finnish-style sauna. You can use the sauna only or stay for a long time.

In addition, in response to requests from customers who want a more private space, such as families and couples, we opened the annex in August 2022.
LOCATION
The location of Hostel perch is about 30 minutes by car from Ryotsu Port, and a 1-minute walk from the Niigata Kotsu Sado bus stop [Kawarada Suwamachi] (HANARE is a 4-minute walk from the bus stop).
There is also a coworking space that can be used for workcations on Sado Island (of course, free wi-fi and power supply are available).

SAUNA
The sauna, which is a renovated old storehouse, is an authentic Finnish style with a maximum temperature of 120°C. Equipped with cold bath and infinity chair.
CAFE ＆ BAR
The cafe and bar at the entrance is a space where guests and locals can interact. You can enjoy delicious drinks selected by the owner, feel the atmosphere of the land, and experience an extraordinary time unique to travel.
CO-WORIKNG SPACE
The co-working space is attached to the hostel, and you can use it freely during your stay.
COMMON SPACE
Guests can use the shared kitchen, living room, and dining space.

Parking
10 cars can be parked.Indoor parking available. There is also ample parking space next to Birch and Daylily. Bicycles can also be stored indoors (depending on the number of bicycles; they cannot be brought into the guest room).
Check-in
Check-in is from 16:00 to 21:00. If you arrive before check-in and stay at the hostel, a co-working fee of 900 yen per person will be charged. Late check-in after 9pm will be charged 1000 yen per person. If you will be arriving after 9pm, please be sure to contact us in advance. Check-in is not possible after 23:00.
Smoking
No smoking inside the hotel.
Eating and drinking
No food provided. Shared kitchen available. The cafe and bar at the entrance usually serve only drinks (you can bring in food).
Luggage storage/send
Luggage storage before check-in is possible from 10am. If you would like to send luggage by mail, please contact us in advance and specify the arrival date of the luggage as the day of check-in.
Kids policy
Up to 1 child under the age of 6 stays free of charge when sharing a bed with an adult. However, amenities such as bath towels are not included. Children over 7 years old will be charged the same price as adults.

Is the sauna included in the room rate?
Sauna is not included in the stay. However, guests can use the Kura sauna at a discounted rate. Both [Birch] and [Daylily] have saunas available exclusively to guests, the use of which is included in the room rate.
About facility use
If you damage any fixtures or accessories, please contact us immediately (we will charge you the corresponding amount). Guests who are drunk or intoxicated may be refused accommodation. In case of unauthorized entry, an additional fee of 100,000 yen will be collected. If there is smoking inside the building, a cleaning fee of 100,000 yen will be charged.
Regarding accommodation cancellation fees
Cancellations made 7 days or less before check-in date will incur a 100% cancellation fee including tax. Your reservation will be canceled free of charge only if all Sado Kisen (car ferries on the Niigata-Ryotsu route, Jetfoil, and car ferries on the Naoetsu-Ogi route) on the day of your reservation are cancelled.
When is the reservation start date?
We are now accepting reservations for 2025. (Last check-in will be December 20th) We will begin accepting reservations for the triathlon period (September 5th to 8th) at 12:00 on March 30th. For 2026, reservations are scheduled to begin around October 2025.
Are there discounts for long-term stays?
For winter-only plans, discounts for consecutive nights will be applied for stays of 2 nights or more. We also offer advantageous weekly plans for stays of 7 nights or more. For regular plans starting March 10th, you will receive a 10% discount on your stay starting from the 3rd night, 15% off from the 7th night, 20% off from the 14th night, and 30% off from the 28th night.
