Our story of Romance za Kado
Atami is a hot spring resort with a retro townscape. In the Edo period (1603-1867), it was also a favorite therapeutic hot spring of Tokugawa Ieyasu(Samurai), and since the Meiji period (1868-1912), it has been visited by many Japanese writers and artists, including Dazai Osamu, Tanizaki Junichiro, Mishima Yukio, and Shiga Naoya.
There used to be a movie theater "Romance Za" in Atami. The "Romance za Kado" is located right next to the theater that has led the culture of Atami.
Feeling the atmosphere of the Showa period
Atami Ginza-street has is a number of modern stores such as café bars, gelato shops, and pudding cafes. This hostel is located in an alley off such a popular shopping street, where you can experience staying locally while feeling the bustling atmosphere of the shopping street.
In the same alley, there are still buildings and stores where you can feel the atmosphere of the Showa period, such as "Bonnet", a coffee shop frequented by Yukio Mishima, as well as "Romanceza", the last movie theater in Atami, which was closed down, so you can spend a relaxing time.
All six rooms have different concepts.
Romance za kado has 3 single rooms, 2 twin rooms and 1 tripl room. All rooms are designed with different layouts and different atmospheres, each with a hidden concept. You can make a reservation by specifying the room, so please take a look at each room and choose the type you are interested in.
Stay in a private room and communicate like in a guesthouse.
Check-in is at "guest house MARUYA," a 30-second walk away. This guesthouse has been conveying the enjoyment of Atami with the concept of "Staying here will make you addicted to Atami.
We started Romance za kado to provide private room type rooms keeping such a concept in mind.

We are supposed to accept check-in 15:00-21:00 at guest house MARUYA. If you arrive over 21:00, please tell us in advance. If there is no contact until 21:00, it will be automatically canceled. ※We cannot accept check-in over 22:00.

Please note that an additional charge will occur after 21:00 - 22:00 check-in(100yen/5min late)
About check-in location
Please note that Check-in location is at guest house MARUYA. Please come to the reception at guest house MARUYA.
About Parking Lots
There is no dedicated parking space. Please use coin-operated parking lots in your neighborhood.
About Age Limitations
Children under 13 years of age are not allowed to stay at the hostel even if accompanied by a parent.
