Stay Your Way: Flexible and Immersive Free-Time Plan

Step into a slower rhythm of life in a 250-year-old farmhouse where time seems to stretch gently. This plan invites you to enjoy the historic charm of our Main Residence without fixed schedules or meals—just freedom to relax your way.

From check-in at 2:00 PM, the entire space is yours to enjoy. Stroll through the spacious garden, unwind on the wrap-around engawa veranda, or gather with friends for a BBQ. The grounds include a large lawn with a towering chestnut tree and seasonal flowers, plus a BBQ area and a fully equipped kitchen—available by reservation for an extra fee.

Children love exploring nature here, from catching bugs in summer to collecting chestnuts in autumn. If you're traveling with kids, feel free to bring a small inflatable pool; water is available.

A fire pit is also available—bring your own firewood or purchase some on site.(Firewood is available for purchase at the lodge for a fee.)

Please note: This is a natural setting. Insects, seasonal heat or chill, and outdoor elements are part of the experience. The farmhouse has basic insulation and air conditioning, but not to modern hotel standards.

The shared lawn may occasionally be used by others; we’ll inform you in advance.

For corporate retreats, our adjacent Koguma Hall accommodates up to 60 people. Multi-day training with lunch can be arranged—just ask.

Whether you want to sit in silence, toast marshmallows, read a book, or host a planning retreat, this plan is your canvas.

Facility Precautions

Smoking Policy

The entire property is strictly non-smoking. This traditional farmhouse is over 250 years old and holds cultural value similar to a heritage property. If you must smoke, please use the designated area near the parking lot with your own ashtray. Smoking near the building is strictly prohibited.

Bathroom & Toilet Facilities

Please note that the bathroom and toilet are located in a separate building. The main house is a preserved Edo-period structure (now retrofitted for earthquake resistance). To access the bath and toilet, you’ll need to walk about only 10 steps outside from the rear entrance. Depending on the season or weather, the walk may be chilly or uneven underfoot. We hope you’ll enjoy this unique aspect of staying in an authentic Japanese farmhouse.

About Heat and Cold

This house was built around the time of the American Revolution, over 250 years ago. While some insulation has been added and air conditioning is available, temperature control is not as perfect as in modern buildings. Please be aware that you may feel a bit warm in summer or chilly in winter depending on the season. That said, the traditional design of the house helps it stay relatively cool during the summer. In winter, we provide padded “hanten” coats to help keep you warm—please feel free to ask if needed.
