The city of Miyazu, known since ancient times for its proximity to Amanohashidate, stands as a cultural gem of Kyoto by the Sea.

Amanohashidate, celebrated as one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views, is renowned for its breathtaking beauty. It is praised in Japan’s oldest chronicles, the Kojiki, and has been a source of inspiration for historical figures such as the poetess Izumi Shikibu in the Heian period and Hosokawa Gracia in the Sengoku era.

True to its name, Miyazu—meaning “the port of Kyoto”—has long been a gateway connecting the Sea of Japan with the imperial capital. In this storied town of Miyazu, we have reimagined a public facility with a 50-year history into a boutique hotel with only nine exclusive rooms.
