[Two Meals Included] A “Sagemon” Room to Enjoy Spring in Yanagawa

In Yanagawa, there is a long-standing tradition of celebrating a child’s first seasonal festival by decorating hina dolls together with colorful sagemon ornaments, praying for the child’s healthy growth and happiness.

About "Sagemon" - a prayer for children's healthy growth and happiness

"Sagemon" is a festival decoration unique to Yanagawa that combines fabric crafts in the shape of auspicious motifs such as cranes, rabbits, chicks, and shrimp with Yanagawa Mari, a traditional Yanagawa craft made of rolled up colorful thread.

Each ornament is filled with wishes such as "happiness," "health," and "safe growth," and is carefully crafted with the family's thoughts in mind.

This time, Ohana has prepared an accommodation plan that will allow you to get closer to Yanagawa's spring and festival culture.

About the Yanagawa Hinamatsuri Sagemon Meguri: February 11th (Wed) - April 3rd (Fri), 2026

The Yanagawa Hinamatsuri Sagemon Meguri is a spring event in which the entire town inherits the festival culture and prayer customs that have been passed down in Yanagawa since ancient times.

During the period, sagemon decorations are displayed throughout the town, allowing visitors to enjoy strolling through the springtime streets while coming into contact with warm and heartfelt sentiments.

Tachibana Hiroshige, the 17th head of the Tachibana clan and the 5th chairman of the Yanagawa Tourism Association, and began in 1995. Since then, it has been cherished and passed down to the present day as a representative spring event in Yanagawa.

(Guided Tour of the Historic Residence) ”What we want to pass on to 100 years from now” Every day from 4:30pm

Why has the Tachibana clan continued to love Yanagawa from approximately 400 years ago to the present day?

Together with the staff of Ohana, we offer an experience touring the cultural heritage sites, allowing you to connect with the culture, history, and spirit passed down by a single clan.

Book Lounge

To provide a unique reading experience meant to be enjoyed only when visiting Ohana and its cultural heritage, we offer a diverse selection of books in our book lounge.

Dinner

Yanagawa has long been blessed with abundant ingredients, thanks to the rich natural environment created by the Ariake Sea—with the greatest tidal range in Japan—and the fertile Chikugo Plain.

The Tachibana clan also benefited from these blessings. Perhaps it was because Yanagawa was a prosperous region with little conflict that they were able to continue weaving their history uninterrupted for over 400 years.

From a daimyo family to a count's family, and then to a traditional restaurant and inn. Through the food culture that has developed in each era, we hope to deliver what we would like to pass on to the next 100 years.

O-hiroma Lounge | 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM

At Shoto-en Garden, you can enjoy the beautiful sight of magnificent black pines. You can also enjoy an evening drink in the 100-tatami room, just like a feudal lord. (Please bring your own drinks from the free lounge.)

Breakfast 7:30-10:00

Our goal is to be your eternal spiritual home.

It represents the Japanese breakfast that has continued to be eaten through the ages, and that we would want to continue eating even 100 years from now.

Morning Coffee Lounge | 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Morning drinks are available for free in the lobby. Please enjoy them after your morning walk or after breakfast.

Visit to the Tachibana Clan Archives

The Tachibana Clan Archives, which houses one national treasure and half of Fukuoka Prefecture's Important Cultural Properties, is a museum where you can see the daimyo's tools and items from the count's family that have been carefully passed down through the Tachibana clan for about 400 years.
