About the Natural Environment

Because of the rich natural environment, fireflies, beetles, and the national butterfly Oomurasaki, which are rare to see in the city, can be seen here. If you have trouble with insects invading your room, please use the insect repellent available in the facility. Monkeys and deer may be encountered, but please do not approach them.

Surrounding Environment

Kodomari Fuji is located in a small village where many children and elderly people live. Please slow down when driving and take care for your own safety. Please refrain from entering the surrounding fields and gardens when enjoying a walk around the area.

About SNS Postings

In order to ensure that future guests can enjoy their stay with a fresh perspective, we ask that you refrain from sending photos of the rooms to social networking sites or other unspecified parties. Please enjoy the photos taken inside the rooms for your personal viewing. Photos of the building exterior and views can be posted on social networking sites.

Visits by non-guests

For operational and security reasons, we do not accept visitors. Even if you know a guest staying at the hotel, you are not allowed to enter the premises.

Requests Regarding Use of Facilities

Please refrain from posting photos and videos taken inside the building on social networking services (SNS) for personal viewing only. (Photos of the exterior of the building may be posted.) Please refrain from entering the premises unless your name is on the guest list. Smoking is not permitted in the building, including on the deck. If you wish to smoke, please bring your own portable ashtray and smoke outdoors. If the facility is found to be extremely dirty or damaged, additional cleaning and repair fees may be charged. Actual costs may also be charged for damage or loss of equipment or furniture. Please note that we are not responsible for any accidents or injuries caused by natural disasters, problems in the facility due to the natural environment, or other customer negligence.

General Terms & Conditions for Accommodation Contract

Kodomari Fuji Rules *Please refrain from posting photos and videos taken inside Kodomari Fuji on social media (photos taken outside of the building can be posted.) *Please refrain from inviting people whose names are not on the guest list. * Kodomari Fuji is locked by a remote lock. Please make sure that all guests note the 4-digit key number. *Smoking is not allowed in Kodomari Fuji, including the deck. Please smoke outdoors and bring your own portable ashtray. *Additional cleaning and repair fees may be charged if Kodomari Fuji is extremely dirty or damaged. Actual costs may be charged for damage or loss of equipment or furniture. *Please note that we are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or problems in Kodomari Fuji caused by natural disasters, natural environment, or any other negligence of the guests. The General Terms and Conditions of Accommodation Scope of Application Article 1 1. The accommodation contract (Hereinafter referred to as “the Contract”) and related agreements that Kodomari Fuji (Hereinafter referred to as “the Facility”) concludes with the guest(s) of the Facility (Hereinafter referred to as “the Guest”) shall be in accordance with the provisions of this General Terms and Conditions of Accomodation. Any matters not stipulated in these clauses shall be in accordance with laws and regulations or generally established customs. 2. If the Facility agrees to a special agreement within the scope that does not contravene laws, regulations, and custom, such special agreement shall prevail notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph. Application for the Contract Article 2 1. The Guest who wishes to apply for the Contract of the Facility must provide the following information and fee to the Facility. (1) Name(s) of the Guest (2) Date of stay and estimated time of arrival (3) Accommodation fee (in principle, based on Table 1) (4) Other items deemed necessary by the Facility 2. If the Guest requests to stay beyond the date of stay as specified in the preceding paragraph (2) while staying at the Facility, the Facility shall treat such request as a new application for the Contract when the request is made. Concluding the Contract Article 3 1. The Contract shall be concluded when the Facility accepts the application as stated in the preceding article. However, this shall not apply when the Facility proves that it did not accept the application. 2. When the Contract is concluded pursuant to the preceding paragraph, the Guest must pay the accommodation fee by the date designated by the Facility. The Guest can pay with credit card on the reservation website or with local currency’s cash or credit card when the Guest arrives at the Facility. This does not apply when another method of payment is approved by the Facility. 3. When the payment is not made by the accommodation date in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the Facility may void the Contract. Refusal to Conclude the Contract Article 4 The Facility may refuse to conclude the Contract in the following cases. (1) When the application for accommodation is not in accordance with these clauses. (2) When the room is fully booked. (3) When only minors are staying. (4) When it is recognized that the person seeking accommodation is likely to commit an act contrary to the provisions of the law, public order, or good morals. (5) When the person seeking accommodation is a member of a crime syndicate or other antisocial force, or a person related to such group. (6) When it is clearly recognized that the person seeking accommodation is suffering from a contagious disease. (7) When the person seeking accommodation requests un unreasonable task. (8) When the hotel is unable to accommodate the Guest due to natural disasters, facility damages, or other unavoidable reasons. (9) When a person seeking accommodation is intoxicated or otherwise behaves in a manner that causes inconvenience to neighboring residents or the staff of the Facility. (10) When the Guest falls under any of the other circumstances in which accommodation can be refused as stipulated by laws, regulations, or Nagano Prefecture ordinances. The Guest's Right to Cancel the Contract Article 5 1. The guest may cancel the Contract by notifying the Facility. 2. If the Contract is cancelled in whole or in part for reasons attributable to the Guest, the Facility shall charge a penalty fee in accordance with the provisions listed in Appendix 2. However, when the Facility accepts the special contract stipulated in Article 4, Paragraph 1, the Guest is obligated to pay the penalty only when the Facility notifies the Guest. 3. If the Guest does not arrive as scheduled without notifying the Facility or does not respond to any call or message from the Facility after the scheduled time of arrival, the Facility may deem the Contract to have been cancelled by the Guest (See Table 2). The Facility’s Right to Cancel the Contract Article 6 1. The Facility may cancel the Contract in the following cases. (1) When it is recognized that the Guest is likely to commit an act contrary to the provisions of law, public order, or good morals in connection with the accommodation, or when it is recognized that the Guest has committed such an act. (2) When it is clearly recognized that the person seeking accommodation is suffering from a contagious disease. (3) When the person seeking accommodation requests un unreasonable task. (4) When the hotel is unable to accommodate the Guest due to a force majeure such as a natural disaster. (5) When the Guest falls under any circumstances in which accommodation can be refused as stipulated by laws, regulations, or Nagano Prefecture ordinances. (6) When the Guest does not comply with the prohibitions on smoking in the building and other rules of use established by the facility (limited to what is necessary for fire prevention), or tamper with fire extinguishers. (7) When the person seeking accommodation is a member of or associated with a crime syndicate, a company affiliated with a crime syndicate, or any other anti-social force. (8) When the person seeking accommodation makes violent, threatening, blackmailing, or unreasonable demands to the Facility or our staff, or demands a burden exceeding a reasonable range, or when it is recognized that a such act has been committed. (9) When a person seeking accommodation is intoxicated or otherwise behaves in a manner that causes inconvenience to neighboring residents or the staff of the Facility. 2. When the Contract is cancelled by the Facility in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph, no charge for accommodation services that have not yet been provided to the Guest will be made, unless there are reasons attributable to the Guest. Accommodation Registration Article 7 1. The Guest shall register the following information at the time of check-in. (1) The Guest's name, date of birth, phone number, address, and occupation (for all Guest in accordance with the Ryokan Business Law) (2) For foreigners: Nationality, passport number, place and date of entry (3) Departure date and time (4) Any other information deemed necessary by the Facility 2. If the Guest intends to pay the fee accordance with the Article 11 by credit card or other means of payment other than cash, the Guest may be asked to present them in advance when registering the information listed in the preceding paragraphs. Facility Hours Article 8 1. The Guest may use the Facility from 2:00 pm to 10:00 am. However, in the case of a consecutive stay, the Guest may use the room for the entire day, except for the day of arrival and the day of departure. 2. Notwithstanding the provisions in the preceding paragraph, the Facility may accept the use of the Facility outside the hours stipulated in the preceding paragraph, depending on the circumstances. In such cases, an additional fee of ¥3,000 will be charged for each additional hour of use. Compliance with the Rules and Regulations Article 9 1. The Guest shall abide by the Facility’s Rules and Regulations. Business Hours Article 10 1. The business hours of the Facility are as follows. (1) Reception: from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (2) Pantry Store: from 2:00 pm to 9:30 pm 2. The hours in the preceding paragraph are subject to change on a temporary basis. In such cases, the Facility will notify the Guest at the time of stay. Payment of Accommodation Fee Article 11 1. The accommodation fee to be paid by the Guest shall be in accordance with the items listed in appended table 1. 2. The Guest can pay the accommodation fee in the preceding paragraph with a credit card on the reservation website, or with local currency’s cash or credit card when the Guest arrives at the Facility. The Guest must make the payment when the Facility requests while staying at the Facility. 3. The accommodation fee will be charged even if the Guest chooses not to stay at the Facility after the Facility has prepared and provided the Facility to the Guest. Responsibility of the Facility Article 12 1. If the Facility causes damage to the Guest due to the Facility’s performance or non-performance of the Contract and related agreements, the Facility shall compensate for such damage. However, this shall not apply when the damage is not caused by reasons attributable to the Facility. 2. The Facility has a liability insurance in case of fire. Unavailability of the Facility Article 13 1. If the Facility is unable to provide the Facility, the Facility shall, with the approval of the Guest, try as much as possible to arrange other accommodations under the same conditions. 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, if the Facility is unable to arrange other accommodation, the Facility shall pay compensation to the Guest in an amount equivalent to the penalty, and the compensation shall be applied to the amount of compensation for damages. However, if there is no reason attributable to the Facility for not being able to provide accommodation, no compensation shall be paid. The Guest's Baggage or Personal Belongings Article 14 1. If the Guest's baggage arrives at the Facility prior to the Guest’s arrival, the Facility will take responsibility for keeping the baggage only when the Facility has agreed to do so prior to the arrival. The Facility will hand over the baggage to the Guest when checking in. 2. If the Guest's has left any belongings behind after checking out, the Facility shall contact the Guest and ask for instructions. However, if there are no instructions from the Guest or the owner is unknown, the belonging will be disposed in accordance with the Lost and Found Law. Food and beverage items will be disposed if no notification is received by the day after the check-out. 3. The Guest is responsible for the valuables during the stay, and the Facility will not be held responsible for any of them. Parking Responsibility Article 15 1. When the Guest uses the parking lot of the Facility, regardless of whether or not the key of the vehicle is deposited, the Facility is not responsible for the management of the vehicle. However, if damage is caused by the intention or negligent management of the parking lot, the Facility will be held responsible for compensation. 2. The Facility is not responsible for any vehicle trouble at the Facility. 3. Please note the following precautions during the winter season. (1) When snowing, the Facility may ask the Guest to move its car to remove snow from the parking lot. (2) Please refrain from parking under the eaves of the building or in the building tunnel, as icicles and snow cliffs may fall. (3) The Facility is not responsible for any problems caused by snowfall. Guest Responsibility Article 16 1. If the Facility incurs expenses for cleaning and repairing Facility, loss of business opportunities, or other losses due to the Guest's violation of these General Terms and Conditions or Rules and Regulations or other intentional or negligent acts by the Guest, the Guest must compensate for such damage. Revision of the General Terms and Conditions Article 17 1. The General Terms and Conditions may be revised as necessary. 2. When revising the General Terms and Conditions, the content and effective date of the revised General Terms and Conditions shall be added to this Article. Table 1 1. The breakdown of accommodation fee to be paid by the Guest is as follows. - Accommodation fee (the base fee + fee for the number of guests) - Additional charges (food, beverage, and other purchases) - Taxes (in accordance with the newest consumption tax and tax laws) 2. Please refer to the Facility’s website or reservation website for the accommodation fee and children free. Table 2 Cancelation Penalty (see Article 5, Section 2) - 10 to 7 days prior to the check-in date: 30%. - 6 to 3 days prior to the check-in date: 50%. - 2 days to the day before the check-in date: 80% - On the day of arrival/non-arrival: 100% Supplementary information on Appendix 2: 1. 1. The percentage is the ratio of the penalty charge to the accommodation charges. 2. The number of days shall be counted from the check-in time at 2:00 pm. 3. If the stay is shortened from the duration stated in the Contract, a penalty will be charged for each day. 4. A separate penalty may be incurred for specific dates. The Facility will inform the Guest of the specific date at the time of reservation. 5. A penalty fee will be charged with a false description in the Contracts or in the event of cancellation of the Contract that causes damage to the Facility. Rules and Regulations To ensure the safety and comfort of the Guest, the Facility has established the following Rules and Regulations in accordance with Article 9 of the General Terms and Conditions of Accommodation. If the Guest fails to abide by these Rules and Regulations, the Facility will refuse the Guest to stay or use the Facility in accordance with Article 6 of the General Terms and Conditions. The Facility may also ask the Guest to compensate any damages incurred by the Guest. Please note that the Facility will not be held responsible for any accidents caused by the Guest’s failure to abide by the Rules and Regulations. 1. Use of the Facility (2) Smoking is not permitted in the Facility, including on the deck. (3) Fire-related tools, fireworks, BBQs, etc. that may cause a fire are prohibited. (4) Please refrain from using the Facility for any purpose other than lodging, such as making videos of the Facility, using the Facility for commercial purposes, or using the Facility as a venue for workshops, etc. (5) Please be careful with the furniture and items in the Facility. Do not drastically change their current positions. (6) Accommodation of persons other than those registered to stay at the Facility is strictly prohibited. (7) Please do not invite anyone other than registered Guest. (8) Minors are not allowed to stay at the Facility by themselves. (9) Please be aware that there are potentially hazardous areas within the Facility, especially on the deck, loft, stairs, and fireplace. (10) There are many steps in the Facility. Please keep an eye on small children. Please do not leave children alone in the bedroom as they may lock themselves with a remote lock. 2. Payment (1) The Guest shall pay the accommodation fee at the time of reservation. (2) The Guest shall pay the accommodation fee at the time of check-in. The Facility may ask for payment during the stay. (3) Please note that we do not cover the cost of the Guest’s purchases, meals, taxi, luggage shipping, etc. (4) The Facility does not accept any gratuities as the legally required taxes are added to the accommodation fee. 3. Valuables and Lost Items (1) The Guest must take care of their valuables during the stay. (2) The Facility will keep items left by the Guest for a certain period, after which they will be disposed in accordance with the Lost and Found Law. 4. Prohibited Items and Activities (1) Posting photos and videos taken inside of the Facility on social media (2) Animals, birds, and other pets (except guide dogs) (3) Gunpowder, volatile oil, or other ignition or flammable materials (4) Acts that make extremely loud noises (5) Guns, swords, or stimulants those possession is prohibited by law (6) Gambling or any act that disturbs public morals, or any word or action that may disturb neighboring residents or Facility staff (7) Objects that emit a foul odor (8) Significant amount of waste (The Guest may be asked to take such waste with the Guest when leaving the Facility.) (9) Please be careful not to engage in any other dangerous activities or bring in any items that are considered inappropriate by socially accepted norms. 5. In the event of damage, contamination, or loss at the Facility, furniture, or other items due to reasons other than force majeure, the Guest must compensate for the actual cost of such damage, contamination, or loss.
