Experience of sleeping inside Apple box.

In the Tsugaru region, where Hirosaki is located, apples are still harvested in wooden boxes and shipped to the market, where they are delivered to shops and homes. For more than 100 years, apple boxes have played an important role in connecting people through apples. In the mixed dormitory, you can stay in bunk beds made from used apple boxes, designed by Hirosaki-born architect Manabu Aritsuka.

Inside the apple box bed, there is a faint smell of apples, and you can experience the feeling of being in a secret base, like when you played in the closet as a child.

The apple box beds are named after apple varieties; Delicious, Star King, Kougyoku, Kokkou.

The name of the apple is written by stencil plate called "suriban'', which was used in the past to indicate the variety name and grade on the wooden box when shipping apples! The characters have unique flavor and are very nice.

Basic information ≪Equipment/Amenity≫

There are apple crates in the coed dormitory that you can use as luggage racks or chairs.

・There are two shared shower rooms and one women-only shower room.

・There is one men's restroom at the entrance of the guesthouse and one women's restroom at the entrance of the guesthouse and in the women's area.

(*There are a limited number of shower and rest rooms. When the dormitory is full, it can get very crowded, so please be considerate when using the shower rooms. We also recommend Asahi Sauna (for men only), located a 5-minute walk from Orando no nikai.

• Slippers, hair dryers, cotton swabs, earplugs, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, bath towels (paid: 200 yen), face towels (paid: 150 yen), and toothbrushes (paid: 50 yen) are provided as amenities.

• There are also lockers for valuables.

Notes

・Check-in after 9:00 PM is generally not accepted.

If you must check in after 9:00 PM on the day of arrival, a late check-in fee of ¥1,000 will be charged. Please be advised in advance.

・Due to the structure of the facility, sound tends to echo.

After 10:00 p.m., please be considerate of other guests and neighboring residents and keep quiet.

・The upper bunk in the dormitory requires climbing a fairly steep ladder.

If you prefer the lower bunk, please let us know in advance via message.

During busy periods, we may not be able to accommodate your request even if you contact us in advance.

・The water pressure in the shower is weak. We apologize for any inconvenience, but please understand this before making your reservation.
